It will help you to know exactly where each round starts. For this reason, I used a moderate tension - tight enough so that the pom holds its shape and will hold stuffing if you opt to stuff it, but loose enough that finding stitches isn’t hard. ![]() You will not be able to see your stitches. This is definitely a yarn you have to work with “by feel”.I absolutely love the white tipped brown color of it and the texture when it is worked up is quite pretty! The Bear colorway shed quite a bit while I was working with it and isn’t as fluffy.I love, love, loooooove the texture of the Chinchilla colorway it is so light and fluffy, and it didn’t shed at all when I was working with it - major bonus!.Here are my takeaways after working with this yarn: Bear is pictured in the photo above in the extra large size and Chinchilla is pictured below in the large size. I worked up these pom poms using the two different colors and in two different sizes. How to Crochet with Faux Fur Yarn - Impressions, Tips and Tricks I was pleasantly surprised to see that these two colorways even had slightly different textures - I wasn’t expecting that! I personally started with ‘Bear’ and ‘Chinchilla’. I also love that this yarn comes in 8 different colors! It gives you the option to make poms for any project pallet, and having one of each color on hand would ensure you always have the supplies to make the perfect pom for your project. I don’t know about you, but I like to wash my hats every once in a while, and taking off a pom pom isn’t always the easiest thing to do. Sometimes I buy my poms ( see my favorite seller on Etsy here) but if you want a lot of faux fur poms for selling/gifting your items that can get kind of spendy! So when Lion Brand released this new Go For Faux yarn, I KNEW I had to try making some faux fur poms with it and I’m loving the results! I love that this yarn is washable (though I haven’t tried personally washing it myself - that may be an experiment and follow up post for a later day). I know I could buy faux fur and sew poms, but the idea of that just doesn’t appeal to me. I can sew well enough when I need to, but it doesn’t bring me the same relaxation that crocheting does (in fact my husband makes sure he is in a different room if I ever take my sewing machine out. I don’t know about you, but I’m not the best of friends with my sewing machine.
